If you've ever had the misfortune of spilling some ketchup on your dobby fabric, then you know struggle of removing those stubborn reddish-brown stains. Fortunately, there are a few easy steps you can take to get the stains out. Here’s what to do:

  • Blot the ketchup stain with a paper towel or cloth.
  • Mix a tablespoon of liquid detergent and 2 cups of cold water.
  • Dip a cloth in the mixture and dab it onto the stained area.
  • Let area air-dry.
  • If any stain remains, rub a liquid stain remover on the area and let it sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing.

Another way to deal with ketchup stains is to try and dilute the stain. To do this, mix 1 liter of cold water with a teaspoon of white vinegar and gently rub the stained area with mixture. Rub area in circular motions and rinse thoroughly. If the stain still persists, then try to pre-treat it with a laundry detergent or stain remover before washing, to give it the best chance of being completely removed.
