Step 1: Blot the Stain with Drinks

To remove as much of stain as possible, blot the area with a soft cloth soaked in carbonated water or soda water. The carbonation helps to lift the stain from the fabric. Work the stain gently and never scrub.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Garment

Then pre-treat fabric by applying a small amount of a laundry detergent or stain remover. Rub gently and let it sit for a few minutes. Now use a wet cloth to work the stain further in a circular motion.

Step 3: Wash Garment as Usual

After pre-treating the stain, put the fabric in washing machine and wash it as usual. Use cold water to avoid setting the stains into the fabric. If stain is still visible, repeat the procedure.

Step 4: Air Dry the Garment

Once cycle is done, do not place the garment directly in dryer as this may set the stain. Let the crop top air dry and then inspect it. Repeat the process, if the stain is still visible.

Step 5: Spot Treat Remaining Stains

If there are still some traces of the ketchup stain, apply a small amount of a laundry detergent and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then use a wet cloth to rub the stained area in a circular motion. Rinse away detergent and air dry the garment.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain is still visible, repeat the procedures from Step 1 to Step 5 until the stain is completely gone.
  • Always read the garment care label before cleaning any item.
  • To avoid the hassle, apply a small amount of water repellent spray on your garments.
  • For tough stains like ketchup, you can also use a commercial stain remover.
