If the ketchup stain is still fresh and hasn't had time to set, you can try a simple scrubbing technique. Combine a few drops of liquid detergent with warm water, and use a clean cloth to sponge stain gently. Rinse well and repeat as necessary until the stain has been removed.
Vinegar is a great spot remover for many kinds of stains. To use this method, mix equal parts vinegar and water, and apply it to the stain. Use a clean cloth to scrub the area gently and let the vinegar solution sit for a few minutes before rinsing with water.
OxiClean is a powerful stain-removing product that can be used to remove marks from a variety of fabrics. To remove ketchup stains, simply mix one scoop of OxiClean with two cups of hot water and stir until the powder has dissolved. Soak the coveralls in the solution for at least an hour, then rinse with cold water and wash as normal.
Baking soda is another useful spot remover. To use this method, make a paste using baking soda and warm water. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing off with cool water. Repeat if necessary until the stain has been removed.
Be careful when using bleach, as it can damage some fabrics. But if all else fails, you can try washing the coveralls in a solution of laundry detergent and bleach. Be sure to check the fabric label first and test the solution on a hidden area. Rinse thoroughly after washing, then launder as normal.
Ketchup stains can be hard to get out, but with these five techniques, you can keep your coveralls looking their best. With a bit of patience and some elbow grease, those stubborn tomato stains will be gone in no time!
