Method 1: Soak in Cold Water and Dish Detergent

Soaking the stained fabric in cold water and a few drops of dish detergent should do trick. Let the fabric soak for about 30 minutes before blotting the stain with a paper towel. Rinse fabric with cold water before repeating the process again until the spot is gone.

Method 2: Pre-Treat with Vinegar and Baking Soda

If above method doesn’t seem to work, you can try pre-treating the staining with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. Create a paste from equal parts of both ingredients and apply it to the stain. Give it a few minutes to absorb and then rinse with cold water. Repeat this process until the stain has been removed.

Method 3: Use Detergent and Hot Water

Using a bit of detergent and hot water can help lift the stain off your cloth. Apply a small amount of detergent directly onto the stain and let it soak for a few minutes in hot water. Once the stain has softened, scrub it lightly with a brush or toothbrush and rinse with cold water. Keep repeating this process until the stain is completely gone.

Method 4: Use Ammonia Solution

If all else fails, you can try using an ammonia solution to get rid of stain. Mix a teaspoon of ammonia with two cups of warm water in a bowl and use a clean cloth to dab the solution onto the stain. Gently massage the solution into the fabric until the stain softens before rinsing it off with cold water.

Conclusion

Ketchup stains can be annoying, but they don’t have to stay put. With these four methods, you should be able to get rid of those unsightly spots quickly and easily. Just remember to always test any solution or scrubbing method on an inconspicuous part of the garment first.
