Step 1: Blot the Stain

Start by blotting away any excess ketchup with a paper towel. Don't rub the stain or attempt to scrape it off. This will only spread the ketchup and make it harder to clean.

Step 2: Apply Club Soda

Pour club soda over stain and let it soak for a few minutes. Give it time to break down ketchup and begin to loosen it from the fabric.

Step 3: Wash the Fabric

Once club soda has had a few minutes to work, wash the fabric as usual following the directions on the care label. If the stain is still there after washing, repeat steps 2 and 3.

Step 4: Air Dry

Let the fabric air dry instead of using a machine dryer. Heat from the dryer can set stain. If the stain is still visible after the fabric has dried, proceed to step 5.

Step 5: Apply Stain Remover

Apply a stain remover to affected area and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, launder again using the instructions in step 3.
