Removing Ketchup Stains From Canvas Step by Step

  1. Blot the stain with cold water. Never rub or scrub a fresh ketchup stain; this can cause it to spread further and become harder to remove.
  2. Let the excess water dry off of canvas.
  3. Mix 1 cup of warm water with 1 tablespoon of liquid laundry detergent and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.
  4. Dip a cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the stained area. Avoid rubbing, as this can cause the stain to spread.
  5. Once entire stain has been dabbed with the mixture, rinse it off with cold water. Make sure to remove all soap residue.
  6. Allow the canvas to air dry.

Additional Tips

  • If the stain is still visible after the first round of cleaning, repeat steps 3-6 again.
  • Never use hot water or put the canvas in a washing machine, as this can weaken fabric.
  • If you're dealing with dried-on ketchup, try soaking canvas in cold water for a few hours before beginning the cleaning process.
