Pre-Soak Your Boxers

You should begin by pre-soaking your boxers in a solution of lukewarm water and a few drops of liquid laundry detergent. You should let your boxers soak for up to 30 minutes, depending on how long they’ve been stained with ketchup. Once the 30 minutes has passed, rinse your boxers with cold water.

Treat the Stain

After rinsing your boxers, you should treat the stain with an appropriate laundry product. Apply a small drop of liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain and gently rub it into fabric. Once the entire area is lathered up, let it sit for around 10 minutes.

Wash with Cold Water

Once the treatment period has elapsed, you can start washing the boxers in cold water. Make sure to avoid using hot water as doing so may set the ketchup stain permanently. If necessary, you can use a mild bleach alternative, which should help in removing the stain.

Air Dry Boxers

When the washing process is complete, it’s a good idea to air dry boxers instead of using a dryer. The dryer might cause further damage to boxers, especially if they have a patterned design. Hang boxers to dry in sun or indoors, depending on the weather.

Repeat the Process If Necessary

If the stain isn’t completely removed after first attempt, you can repeat the steps above until the stain is gone. If you find that it’s still not coming out, you may want to consider taking the boxers to a professional cleaner.
