To begin, you will need some necessary supplies. Gather white vinegar, baking soda, a clean cloth, a vacuum, and lukewarm water. Start by blotting any excess insect repellent off of the material with a clean cloth. Then, mix equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water in a bowl. Using clean cloth, apply this solution to the stained area and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Afterward, sprinkle baking soda on the stained area and let it sit for an additional 15 minutes.

Once the solution and baking soda have had ample time to work, you can use a vacuum to suck up the debris. Then, take the stained cloth and rinse it with cold water. Allow it to dry in the sun and voila, your wool item is free from insect repellent stains!

If the stain persists after trying these steps, try taking the item to a professional cleaner. Chances are, they will be able to help with stubborn insect repellent stains and other marks.
