Whether you've sprayed insect repellent in vicinity of your wallet or someone has gotten a bit heavy-handed while applying it to themselves and it has splashed onto your belongings, removing an insect repellent stain from any material can be a tricky task. However, if you act quickly and use the right products, you can make short work of it.

What You'll Need

  • Lint-free cloths
  • White vinegar
  • Isopropyl alcohol (also known as rubbing alcohol)
  • Mild detergent or stain remover solution

Removing Stain From Your Wallet

  1. Saturate a lint-free cloth with white vinegar and use it to gently dab stain, being careful not to spread it any further.
  2. If the stain is still visible, mix a solution of one-part isopropyl alcohol and one-part water and use this instead.
  3. Once the stain appears to have been removed, use a clean lint-free cloth dampened with water to wet the area.
  4. Apply a mild detergent or stain remover solution to a lint-free cloth, then gently rub the affected area of the wallet.
  5. Rinse wallet with clean water and wait for it to dry completely before using it again.

By following these simple steps you should be able to easily remove an insect repellent stain from your wallet. If all else fails, consider taking it to a professional cleaner.
