Voile is a lightweight fabric that’s perfect for summertime clothing. Unfortunately, it’s also prone to staining from insect repellents. But don’t worry - stain removal doesn't have to be complicated. With this guide, you can quickly and easily get rid of pesky insect repellent stains on voile fabric.

Step 1: Soak the Stained Area

Begin by soaking stained area in a mixture of warm water and laundry detergent. Allow the spot to sit in the mixture for at least 15 minutes. This will help to lift stain and make it easier to remove in the next step.

Step 2: Wash in the Washing Machine

Once the stained area has been allowed to soak, move it to the washing machine and wash as normal. Use a gentle cycle and check the progress of the stain removal periodically. Once stain has disappeared, move the clothing to the dryer and let it dry completely.

Step 3: Spot Treat if Necessary

If the stain hasn’t completely come out after washing, take the clothing item off the dryer and spot treat the area with a solution of equal parts white vinegar and warm water. Let mixture sit for 15 minutes, then move the garment back to the washing machine and wash a second time.

What If the Stain Doesn’t Come Out?

If the stain still doesn’t come out after a second wash, it may be time to call in the professionals. Visit your local dry cleaner and they’ll be able to help you get the stain out of your voile fabric.
