Using a soft cloth or sponge, gently dab the area where insect repellent has been spilled to soak up as much of it as you can. Do not rub or scrub shoe, as this may accidentally spread stain to other areas or damage material.
In a bowl or container, mix together one part white vinegar and two parts warm water. Soak a sponge or soft cloth in the solution, then gently scrub the stained area.
Once initial scrubbing is finished, rinse the area with clean water to remove the vinegar solution. Then, use the sponge or cloth to gently dab the wet area to dry.
Apply some mild dish soap to the stained area and lightly scrub it with a soft cloth or sponge. Make sure to apply gentle pressure to avoid damaging material.
Once the soap is applied, rinse the area with clean water and use the cloth or sponge to dab it dry.
