How to Remove Insect Repellent Stains from a Uniform

Materials Needed

  • Laundry detergent
  • Oxygen bleach
  • White vinegar
  • Cloth rags

Instructions

  1. Mix 1/4 cup of laundry detergent and 1/4 cup of oxygen bleach into one gallon of warm water.
  2. Soak the uniform in the mixture for a few hours.
  3. After soaking, take the uniform out of the mixture and rub the stain with a cloth rag soaked in white vinegar.
  4. Rinse the uniform in cold water and launder as normal, using an appropriate cycle.

Additional Tips

  • Check the care instructions on uniform to make sure it’s safe to use these cleaning methods.
  • It’s easiest to clean insect repellent stains when they’re still wet. If they have dried, it may take more time and effort to remove them.
  • Be careful not to put the uniform in the dryer before the stain has been completely removed, or it could set it in permanently.
