Steps To Remove The Stain

  1. Dab away excess repellent: Get a soft cloth or paper towel and dab away as much of the repellent as possible without rubbing it in further.
  2. Mix some talcum powder with water: Create a paste using a ratio of 2 parts talcum powder to 1 part water and apply the mixture over the affected area. Allow the paste to set for 30 minutes.
  3. Gently rub the paste off: Using a damp cloth, gently rub the paste off and use a clean cloth to wipe away any leftover residue.
  4. Wash the boots: Wash the boots in cold water with mild soap over stain and rinse off.
  5. Allow boots to air dry: Place the boots in a sunny spot to air dry completely. Once they are dry, they should be good as new!

Tips For Prevention

  • Wear socks or leg coverings: Wearing socks or long leg coverings while outside helps to protect your shoes and boots from stains.
  • Keep repellents away from footwear: When spraying repellents directly onto skin, make sure to avoid the immediate area around your boots and shoes.
  • Opt for a non-aerosol repellent: Switching to a non-aerosol repellent can help reduce the chance of overspray
