Step 1: Blot Immediately

If you get an insect repellent stain on your t-shirt, the first step is to blot the area with a soft, clean cloth. This will help to absorb some of the insect repellent before it has a chance to set into the fabric.

Step 2: Treat the Stain

Next, prepare a solution of one tablespoon of liquid dish soap and one cup of warm water. Carefully pour the solution over stained area and gently rub fabric together to work the soap into the fabric. Let soap sit on fabric for several minutes before rinsing it out with cold water.

Step 3: Apply Vinegar

Mix together one tablespoon of white vinegar and one cup of warm water. Pour the solution onto the stain and let it sit for several minutes. Again, gently rub the fabric together to work the vinegar into the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse Again

Once vinegar has had time to work its magic, rinse the fabric in cold water again. Depending on the severity of the stain, you may need to repeat this process several times.

Step 5: Launder As Usual

Once the stain is gone, launder your t-shirt as usual. Make sure you check the area carefully before putting it in the dryer, as the heat can cause any remaining stains to become more difficult to remove.
