Removing Insect Repellent Stains from Tights

Step 1: Soak

The first step is to soak the stained tights in a mixture of white vinegar and warm water. Use one part white vinegar to four parts warm water and let the tights soak for at least 20 minutes – the longer you can let them soak, the better.

Step 2: Scrub

Once they have finished soaking, take the tights out of the solution and gently scrub the stained area with a toothbrush or old cloth. This will help to break up the stain so that it can be easily removed.

Step 3: Treat

Once stain has been broken up, create a paste by mixing oxygenated bleach powder with warm water. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit for five to 10 minutes. Once this time has elapsed, rinse the paste away with warm water.

Step 4: Wash

After rinsing the paste away, it’s time to wash the tights. Put them in the washing machine on a cold cycle and add a small amount of dish soap. This will help to remove any residue from the treatment.

Step 5: Dry

Once tights have finished washing, hang them up to air dry. Don't put them in dryer, as this could cause the insect repellent stain to set and become permanent.

And That's It!

Your tights should now be free of insect repellent stains! With this guide, you can keep them looking their best and easily remove any future stains.
