When you're soaking up the sun and breeze out on the beach, you also want to protect yourself from pesky mosquitoes and insects. However, when you come back home with unsightly insect repellent stains on your swim trunks, you'll know why prevention is key!

Before cleaning your swim trunks, it’s always best to check the product label for any special instructions or test a small area for possible discolouration.

How to Clean Insect Repellent Stains from Swim Trunks:

  • Firstly, apply a laundry detergent directly onto the stain and rub it into the fabric using an old toothbrush.
  • Take a bowl of warm water and mix in some dishwashing liquid until lather forms.
  • Dip the stained area of the trunks into the soap solution and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Rinse off the trunks with cold water and then put them in the washing machine with the rest of the load.
  • Once the washing is complete, air dry the trunks by hanging them on a clothesline.

If all else fails, you can also try using rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, liquid bleach, and even nail polish remover to help remove stubborn stains.

By following the above steps, you can easily get rid of those bug spray stains from your swim trunks!
