First, the most important thing to do is to gather right supplies. You'll need lint-free cloths, white vinegar, talcum powder, and an eraser. Depending on stain, you may also want to add some mild detergent (one without color or scent additives) or a suede brush.
Start by dabbing the stained area with a damp cloth. This will help loosen the fabric and make stain easier to remove. Once you've done this, use a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water to create a paste and carefully spread it over the stain. Allow it to sit before blotting off with a dry cloth.
Next, cover the stain with a generous amount of talcum powder and use an eraser to gently rub it into fabric. This helps draw out moisture and should be done until the powder no longer clings to the fabric. Once you're done, use a suede brush to brush away any remaining residue.
If you still have some stubborn stains, try adding a small amount of mild detergent to the vinegar and water mixture. Work it into the fabric with a soft cloth and then rinse it with water. Allow the fabric to air dry and repeat the process if needed.
To help prevent future insect repellant stains on suede apparel, you can spray the fabric with a silicone-based fabric protector. This type of protector coats the fabric fibers with a protective water-resistant coating and makes them more resistant to dirt and staining.
Following these steps should help you easily get insect repellant stains out of your suede clothing items! With the right supplies and a bit of elbow grease, you can keep your apparel looking good for seasons to come.
