Step 1: Gather the Supplies

Before you begin cleaning your shoes, it is important to make sure you have all of necessary supplies. You will need an old toothbrush, white vinegar, water, laundry detergent, and a clean cloth.

Step 2: Premix the Solution

In a small bowl, mix together one part white vinegar with two parts water and one teaspoon of laundry detergent. Stir the mixture until it is combined.

Step 3: Apply the Mixture to the Stain

Using the old toothbrush, apply the mixture directly to the stain on the shoe. Make sure to scrub gently, as you don't want to damage the material. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 5 minutes before you move onto the next step.

Step 4: Rinse with Water

Once the mixture has sat for the designated time, rinse it off with cold water. Use the clean cloth to wipe away any remaining residue.

Step 5: Let the Shoes Dry

Allow your shoes to air dry before you wear them again. Once they are fully dry, the insect repellent stains should be completely gone!
