5 Easy Steps to Get Insect Repellent Stains Out of Your Scarf

Start by laying out your scarf on a flat surface and brushing away any dirt particles using a soft brush. Next, use a damp cloth to rub the stain with some mild soap. Keep the cloth slightly wet so soap gets absorbed into the fabric. Let the soap sit on stain for a few minutes before rinsing off with cold water.

If the stain still persists after the first round of cleaning, try mixing a small amount of white vinegar with water in equal parts and spritzing the area. Allow the mixture to sit for about a minute before rinsing again with cold water.

If the stain is still visible after the vinegar treatment, you can try gently rubbing the spot with a mixture of equal parts liquid dishwashing detergent, hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol. Let the detergent soak in for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Once the stain is gone, let your scarf air dry or tumble dry it on a low setting. Also, remember to check care label of your scarf before attempting any of these techniques and test the detergent mixture on a hidden section of the fabric just to be sure it won't damage the fibers.
