The first step to removing an insect repellent stain is to absorb as much of the stain as possible with a clean, damp cloth or sponge. You may need to use a bit of mild soap with the cloth or a mild detergent. Be sure to dab the affected area and not rub or scrub it. This could cause the insect repellent to spread or set in further.
Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a bowl and apply it to the affected area with a damp cloth or sponge. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes before using a fresh cloth to rinse and blot away solution. Repeat this process until the insect repellent has been completely removed.
If the vinegar and water solution does not work, try applying rubbing alcohol directly to the stain with a clean cloth or sponge. Rubbing alcohol can help to dissolve the stubborn insect repellent. Once you have applied the rubbing alcohol, rinse and blot away the solution with a fresh cloth. Repeat this process until the stain has completely been removed.
Once all of the insect repellent has been removed, place the item in the laundry machine and add a bit of detergent. After laundering, hang the item in direct sunlight. This allows the ultraviolet rays to naturally bleach away any remaining stains.
Removing insect repellent stains from Prada items doesn't have to be a daunting task. By following the above steps and using a bit of patience you can successfully get rid of those pesky insect repellent stains.
