What You'll Need:

  • Laundry Detergent
  • White Vinegar
  • Borax
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Ammonia
  • Sponge
  • Toothbrush

Step One: Pre-Treat the Stain

If you can, pretreat the stain with a laundry detergent that contains enzymes before washing it in hot water.

Step Two: Wash in Hot Water

Wash the fabric in hot water after pre-treating it. Make sure to follow the instructions on the Peau de Soie care label for washing. This will help ensure that the garment is not damaged.

Step Three: Make a Solution

Mix equal parts of white vinegar, borax, hydrogen peroxide, and ammonia in a bowl. Use a sponge to apply the solution to the stain, making sure to cover all the stained areas.

Step Four: Brush it Out

Using a toothbrush, scrub the solution into the fabric in a circular motion until stain is gone. Be sure to be gentle, as scraping too hard can damage the fabric.

Step Five: Rinse and Repeat

Rinse the fabric in cold water to remove any remaining solution and repeat Steps Three and Four until the stain is gone.

Step Six: Dry the Fabric

Allow the fabric to air dry or use a low heat setting on the dryer.
