Before you begin, make sure that any dirt or debris on the parka is removed. You can do this by using a soft-bristled brush to gently take off any loose grime.
Mix 1/4 cup of baking soda with two cups of warm water in a bowl. Stir until the baking soda has completely dissolved, then use the mixture to saturate the stain. Use a soft cloth or sponge to rub the mixture into the fabric.
Once the baking soda has been rubbed into fabric, rinse the area with lukewarm water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining baking soda residue.
Mix one part white vinegar with one part warm water in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth or sponge into the mixture and then use it to scrub stained area. This will help break down the stain and make it easier to remove.
After scrubbing the area with the vinegar solution, apply a few drops of dish soap directly onto the stain. Work soap into the fabric, then rinse area with lukewarm water.
Once the area has been rinsed, allow it to air dry. You can also use a blow dryer to speed up the process.
Cleaning insect repellent stains from your parka doesn't have to be a chore. With these simple steps, you can easily and effectively get rid of those stubborn stains.
