Removing Insect Repellent Stains from One-Piece Swimsuits
Got insect repellent on your favorite one-piece swimsuit? Don't worry, you can easily and safely remove stains following these simple steps.

What You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Warm water
- Mild soap (i.e. baby or delicate wash)
- Soft bristle toothbrush or bathing sponge
- Towel and clothes line
- Optional: Stain remover
Instructions
- Mix two tablespoons of white vinegar with warm water in a bowl.
- Soak the one-piece swimsuit in the mixture for 10 minutes.
- Use a soft bristle toothbrush or bathing sponge to gently scrub the stained area.
- Rinse the swimsuit in cold water.
- If any traces of stain remain, rub a small amount of mild soap into the stained area and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Rinse the swimsuit in cold water again.
- If the stain still remains, repeat steps 4 and 5.
- If the stain still remains, apply a stain remover according the the instructions on the package.
- Rinse the swimsuit one final time.
- Dry the swimsuit by laying it flat on a towel, or hanging it up on a clothes line.
Tips & Tricks
- Always use cold water when rinsing the swimsuit, as hot water can set the stain.
- Do not rub the fabric too roughly when scrubbing the stained area.
