Removing Dried Insect Repellent Stains from Nike Shoes

  1. Create a paste made of equal parts water and baking soda and apply it directly to the dried insect repellent. Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes.
  2. Scrub the area using an old toothbrush. The dried insect repellent should start to come off.
  3. Wipe off the excess paste before proceeding to the next step.
  4. Mix together a small amount of mild detergent and warm water until a lather forms.
  5. Dampen a cloth with the mixture and scrub the remaining traces of insect repellent off of the shoe.
  6. Thoroughly rinse the shoe and allow it to air-dry.

Preventing Future Insect Repellent Stains

You can also take preventive measures to ensure that insect repellent never stains your Nike shoes again.

  • If possible, avoid contact between the shoes and insect repellent. Wear different shoes when using it or keep your shoes away from nearby areas where it is being used.
