Here’s how to get pesky bug residue off of mesh fabrics safely and quickly:
Before you jump in to clean up the spot, make sure you have the products you need. You’ll need a gentle solution, like an all-purpose cleaner, or dish soap and water. Make sure cleaner does not contain ammonia or bleach.
Test the solution of your choice on a small, inconspicuous area of the mesh fabric to make sure it won’t damage the material or dye. It’s best to test before continuing with the cleaning process.
Once you’ve tested the cleaner and made sure it won’t damage the fabric, apply the solution to the affected area. Use a non-abrasive cloth or scrubbing brush to work the solution gently into mesh. Be sure not to use too much pressure as this may damage the fibers.
Rinse the area with warm water to remove the cleaner and any residue left by the insect repellent. Make sure to rinse thoroughly, so there is no residue left behind that could damage mesh.
Dry the mesh with a dry cloth or paper towel. Be sure to let it air dry rest of the way if needed.
By following these steps, you can tackle any insect repellent stains on your mesh fabrics. With a little patience and elbow grease, you can avoid any bug-ridden messes.
