First, rinse the stained area with cool water. This will help to remove some of the insect repellent, as well as remove some of oils that can further damage the fabric.
Next, apply a small amount of laundry detergent to the stain and gently rub it in with a soft bristled brush. This will help to further break down the oils in the insect repellent.
Now, add a few drops of white vinegar to the stained area and allow it to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. The vinegar will help to remove any remaining oils from the insect repellent and should also help to lighten the stain.
Finally, sprinkle some baking soda onto the stain and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes. The baking soda will help to lift stain, making it easier to remove.
Rinse the area with cool water one more time to remove the detergent, vinegar, and baking soda. Repeat Steps 1-5 as necessary until the stain is completely removed.
