For everyday or light insect repellent stains, use a small amount of laundry detergent and cold water to blot stain and gently massage it until it starts to lift. You may need to use a soft brush to remove heavy deposits.

If you are dealing with a more stubborn stain, then use a pre-wash stain remover and let it sit on the stain for 20 minutes before laundering. If this doesn't work, then try using a commercial detergent with bleach alternatives. There are specific cleaners made for removing insect repellent stains such as Activ8 stain-fighting laundry additive.

When you are ready to launder your shirt, make sure that it is turned inside out, and use hot water as this will help to break down the stain. If the stain persists, you may want to repeat process again before drying.

Tips for Preventing Insect Repellent Stains

  • Always apply insect repellent away from clothes and on bare skin whenever possible.
  • If you get insect repellent on your clothing, rinse it off immediately.
  • Store your insect repellent in a plastic container so it doesn't leak or make contact with your fabrics.

With these tips, you'll have no problem getting rid of insect repellent stains on your Lacoste outfit!
