When it comes to removing insect repellent stains from jewelry, the first step is to wipe off as much of the stain as possible with a damp cloth. This will remove some of the residue and make it easier for the cleaning process.
Next, use a gentle jewelry cleaner or make your own solution using a mild dish soap and water. Use a soft cloth to apply the cleaning solution to the jewelry and let it sit for a few minutes. Once the solution has had a chance to work its magic, rinse the jewelry off with warm water and let it air dry.
If the stain persists, you may need to take a slightly more aggressive approach. A paste made of baking soda and water can be applied directly to the jewelry and then left to sit for a few minutes before being wiped away. The abrasive nature of the baking soda will help to lift stain, but be sure to use a very small amount and test it on a less visible area of the jewelry first.
Finally, if all else fails, you can try using rubbing alcohol to remove the stain. Dip a cotton swab in some rubbing alcohol, then dab it onto the stained area of the jewelry. Scrub the jewelry gently with swab, and then again rinse the jewelry off with warm water.
Getting rid of unsightly insect repellent marks on your jewelry doesn't have to be a hassle. With the right cleaning technique, you can make your jewelry shine like new and put the stain behind you.
