Start by vacuuming the fabric to remove any dirt or excess insect repellent that is stuck to the fabric. Make sure to vacuum the back of the fabric as well since it is often harder for crevices and dips in hanbok fabric to get cleaned.
Mix liquid detergent and white vinegar together in a bowl, making sure to dissolve all lumps. Next, apply the solution onto the stain using a paper towel, dabbing gently until stain has been completely covered. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Next, take some laundry stain remover and pour it onto a soft cloth. Gently rub the fabric with the cloth, taking care not to press too hard. This will help break up the stain and make it easier to remove.
Rinse the fabric with cold water to remove all the detergent, vinegar, and stain remover. Hang the fabric in a warm place to dry. Be careful not to expose the fabric to direct sunlight as this may cause discoloring.
If the stain is still visible, use a q-tip to spot clean the affected area. This will help to remove stubborn stains that did not come off with the previous steps. Once again, rinse the fabric with cold water and hang to dry.
Removing insect repellent stains from hanbok can be tricky. However, following these steps and using the right materials should help you easily remove the stain from your favorite garment. Good luck!
