What You Need
- Mild, non-abrasive soap
- Soft brush, sponge, or cloth
- White vinegar
- Water
Instructions
- Before attempting to remove the stain, first test an inconspicuous patch with whichever solution you choose. With guipure lace, discoloration can easily occur.
- Gently dab affected area with a soft cloth or sponge that is soaked in a solution of equal parts water and mild, non-abrasive soap. Pat gently until the stain starts to fade. Do not rub, as this may cause the lace to fray or stretch.
- If there is still some residual staining, mix together equal parts white vinegar and water and apply it to the affected area. Let it rest for a few minutes before rubbing gently with a soft sponge or cleaning cloth.
- Rinse the area afterwards with clean water and pat dry with a soft towel.
Tips
- Never use bleach or ammonia on guipure lace, as these chemicals can severely damage the fabric.
- Avoid using hot water, as this can also cause lace to shrink and lose its shape.
- You can also try using a small amount of glycerin as an alternative to vinegar.
