The first step is to blot up as much of the insect repellent as you can. Do this by gently pressing down on spot with a clean, dry cloth to absorb the excess liquid.
After blotting up the initial stain, it is important to pre-treat the area with a stain-removal product. There are specialty products made specifically for georgette but if you do not have access to one, any reputable stain remover should do trick. Simply spray the product onto the stain and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
After doing pre-treatment step, it is time to wash the garment. Make sure to use only cold water and a mild detergent and do not put garment into dryer until stain is completely gone.
If the stain is still present, repeat the pre-treatment and washing steps until it is gone.
Insect repellent stains are a common problem but with the right tools and methods, they do not have to be a problem. By following the simple steps outlined above, one can easily and effectively remove these pesky stains from georgette.
