The first step to removing an insect repellent stain is to remove any excess liquid that’s still present on the fabric or clothing. Use a paper towel or soft cloth to blot the area and soak up as much of the repellent as possible. Be careful not to rub or scrub stain.
Next, mix one teaspoon of dishwashing detergent with one cup of cool water. Stir the mixture so that the detergent dissolves fully. Pour the cleaning solution into a spray bottle and shake it gently.
Once you’ve created cleaning solution, spray the stained area generously. Let the solution sit for about 10 minutes before blotting it with a clean cloth.
Once the stain has been blotted, rinse it using cool water. You may need to repeat this step several times until the insect repellent stain has disappeared completely.
Finally, launder the fabrics as usual. Check the stained area one last time to ensure that it is completely clean before drying it.
By following these simple steps, you can clean insect repellent stains from cotton lawn quickly and easily.
