The first step to removing a stain is to identify the type of fabric you are dealing with. Is it cotton, polyester, leather or something else? Different fabrics require different types of cleaning agents and methods.
Before using a cleaner on a stain, always test it out on a hidden area such as the inside of the garment or the hem, to make sure it won't damage the material or cause discolouration.
Once the fabric has been identified and the cleaner has been tested, prepare cleaning agent in accordance with the directions provided on bottle.
Gently apply the cleaner to stain in a light, circular motion and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes.
Rinse the area with cold water until detergent has been completely removed.
When finished, hang the item to air dry or use a blow dryer on the low setting. Do not put the item in the dryer!
