If you want to clean an insect repellent stain, the first step is to gently blot stain with a paper towel. This will absorb any excess repellent and prevent it from sinking deeper into the fabric. Make sure that you don’t rub the stain, though, as this could cause it to spread.
Once you’ve blotted up any excess repellent, you should pretreat the stain with a stain remover. A good enzyme-based stain remover should do the trick. Apply it directly to the stain and allow it to sit for at least 15 minutes before washing.
Once the stain remover has had time to work, you can machine wash your chicos with hot water to remove remaining repellent. Be sure to use a mild detergent that does not contain bleach or other harsh ingredients. This will help keep your clothes looking their best for as long as possible.
Once chicos have been washed, you should air dry them instead of using a machine dryer. This will help avoid further damage to the fabric due to high heat. After the chicos have been air dried, inspect the fabric to make sure the stain has been completely removed.
With these four steps, you can easily clean away insect repellent stains on chicos. The key is to act quickly and avoid rubbing or scrubbing the stain. If you take care of the problem right away, you won’t have to worry about a permanent mark.
