Time is of the essence when you're dealing with insect repellent stains. Immediately after you realize that your business suit has been marked, dab the affected area with a clean cloth to absorb any residual product that isn't actually on the fabric. Then, you'll want to start taking steps to remove stain itself.
Heat is an effective tool for loosening and removing insect repellent stain. Place a press cloth over the stained area, then run an iron on low heat over the cloth. As the heat is transferred to the press cloth, it should loosen the spot, allowing you to blot it away with a damp cloth.
If the heat method doesn't seem to help, you can use laundry detergent to try to break up the stain. Begin by combining a teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent with a tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of warm water. (Use cold water if fabric is delicate.) Blot the stain with the detergent solution, then check your progress periodically as you continue to blot.
The heat, detergent, and blotting should take care of most insect repellent spots, but if you still have a stubborn stain, you can apply rubbing alcohol directly to spot. Put a towel underneath the stain, apply the alcohol with a sponge, and press it against the fabric. Then, immediately rinse the area with water, and repeat if necessary. The rubbing alcohol should cut through any remaining residue.
