Whether you were in the backyard barbecuing or enjoying a summer night out, insect repellent stains happen! If your bodycon dress has fallen prey to these pesky stains, don’t worry. Removing them is easy and doesn’t require too much effort.

Step 1: Blotting

Take a clean, absorbent cloth and blot the stained area to make sure that you’re not rubbing stain deeper into the fabric.

Step 2: Prewash

Create a prewash by mixing two teaspoons of dishwashing detergent and two cups of cool water. It’s important to use a gentle detergent like Woolite or a dishwashing liquid designed for hand washing delicate fabrics. Dip the stained area in the solution and let it soak for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water.

Step 3: Apply Liquid Detergent

Apply a liquid detergent directly to the stained area and rub the fabric together to work up a lather. To make sure that the stain is completely gone, you can use a soft-bristled brush to help agitate the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse

Once you are finished agitating the fabric, rinse the detergent out with cold water to remove any suds.

Step 5: Wash In Laundry Machine

To make sure that the stain is removed, machine wash the garment following care instructions on the fabric label. Use a gentle cycle and the recommended temperature setting.

Step 6: Dry

Dry your bodycon dress as usual and inspect it for any lingering stains. If the stain remains, repeat steps 1-5 until it's removed.

By following these simple steps, you can easily remove insect repellent stains from your bodycon dress and keep it looking like new.
