If your Banana Republic garment is made from cotton, you can easily remove the stain using household items. To start, fill a bucket with lukewarm water and mix in a tablespoon of laundry detergent. Then, submerge the garment in the bucket and let it soak for up to 10 minutes. Once the fabric is saturated, use a clean cloth or sponge to gently scrub area and lift away the insect repellent. Repeat the process until the stain is completely gone. Rinse the garment in cold water and then air dry it.
Synthetic materials can sometimes be more difficult to clean than natural fibers like cotton. If the item of clothing you are attempting to clean is made from synthetic fabrics, you will need to take a few extra steps. First, dampen a cloth with rubbing alcohol and rub it onto the stain. For best results, try to use circular motions when applying the rubbing alcohol. Then, use a toothbrush to gently scrub the stain. Be sure to apply enough pressure to lift the residue, but be careful not to damage the fabric. After scrubbing area, rinse garment in cold water and then air dry.
