What You Need:

  • Paper towels or cloths
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Window cleaner
  • Dish soap

Removing Ink Stains from Windows

  1. Gently try to remove the bulk of the ink stain with paper towels or a cloth.
  2. Mix rubbing alcohol and dish soap in equal parts. Pour mixture onto the stain.
  3. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes.
  4. Using a clean cloth, rub the stained area in circular motion until the stain is gone.
  5. Check to see if the entire stain has been removed. If not, repeat steps 2 through 4.
  6. Once the stain is completely gone, clean the area with window cleaner.

Tip

If the ink stain remains after you've completed these steps, you may need to take more drastic measures. Try using an erasable whiteboard marker and then wiping it off with a damp cloth. Be sure to test this method on an inconspicuous spot before attempting it on the stained area.
