Step 1: Blot the Stain with a Clean Cloth

The goal is to avoid spreading the stain or grinding it in further. So take a clean cloth and blot the stain as best as you can. Make sure to use an absorbent cloth, like linen or cotton.

Step 2: Rub the Stain with a Sponge and Soap

Using a sponge, mix a solution of soapy water and rub the stain gently. If a tougher cleaning agent is needed, use a few drops of diluted detergent. However, avoid using products containing bleaches or bleaching agents, which may further discolor your fabric.

Step 3: Rinse with Water

After you've rubbed soap into the stain, rinse the area with cold water until the soap is completely gone.

Step 4: Let it Air Dry

Let the affected area air dry. For best results, steam the tie in order to remove any remaining traces of the ink.

Additional TIps

  • Always test any cleaning product on a small, hidden area before using it on the stained part to make sure it does not cause additional damage.
  • If stain is still present, repeat process. You may also try using a spot remover or pre-treatment spray.
  • For tougher stains, consider taking tie to a dry cleaner.
