What You'll Need

  • Dry cloth
  • Soft rag
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Dish soap
  • Sponge

Instructions

  1. Gently scrape away any excess ink that is dry.
  2. Mix 1 part white vinegar with 4 parts warm water, and use a soft rag to dab the mixture onto stain.
  3. Allow the mixture to soak into the stain for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Gently dab area with a sponge and soapy water.
  5. Rinse the area with a damp cloth and dry the area with a dry cloth.
  6. If the stain persists, mix baking soda and water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with a damp cloth.

Tips

  • Always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the wallpaper before using it on the stain to make sure it doesn’t discolor or damage the wallpaper.
  • Try to get to stain as soon as you can as fresh stains are easier to remove than set-in ones.
  • If the stain is still visible after cleaning, try dabbing some bleach onto a cloth and test it on an inconspicuous area of the wallpaper first before using it. If the bleach does not damage the wallpaper, apply it to the stain and let it sit for 5 minutes before rinsing.
