Steps To Clean Ink Stain on Velvet
- Pre-treat the ink stain with a vacuum. Gently go over the affected area with the vacuum cleaner in order to remove as much of the ink as possible.
- Mix one part isopropyl alcohol with one part water and pour into a spray bottle. Spray the solution onto the stain and let it soak for several minutes.
- Using a soft white cloth, gently dab the stain until it starts to disappear. Be sure not to scrub or excess friction might damage the fabric.
- If the stain persists, mix three parts white vinegar into one part water and spray the solution onto the stain. Let it sit for ten minutes. If still not gone, repeat this step.
- Blot the area with an absorbent paper towel to remove any remaining liquid.
- If needed, direct a hair dryer onto the spot. The heat will help the ink to lift out of the material.
