What You'll Need

  • Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl)
  • Paper towel or soft cloths
  • Liquid detergent
  • A small bowl
  • Lemon juice (or white vinegar)

Step by Step Instructions

  1. First, lightly dab the stain with a damp paper towel, or a soft cloth. Do not rub or scrub it, as this could cause stain to spread.
  2. Next, dilute some rubbing alcohol in a small bowl with about equal parts water.
  3. Lightly sponge the stain with your diluted rubbing alcohol solution, being careful not to soak the fabric.
  4. Let the solution sit for a few minutes while it soaks into the stain.
  5. Finally, add a few drops of liquid detergent to the same bowl and mix. Then, use the same sponging method with the mixture of detergent and water on the stain.
  6. If necessary, try using some lemon juice (or white vinegar) instead of detergent. Soak a paper towel with the lemon juice and lay it across the stain. Let the paper towel sit on stain until stain is gone.

Conclusion

When ink stains have made their way onto twill fabrics, don't stress - there's a simple and quick way to get rid of them! By following the instructions above and using rubbing alcohol, some liquid detergent, and lemon juice (or white vinegar), you can easily remove any ink stains from twill fabrics.
