The first thing you need to do is identify the type of ink stain you are dealing with. This will help determine the best method of removal. If the ink was caused by a pen, ballpoint or permanent marker, you will need to use a solvent cleaner. For solvent cleaner, be sure to use a product specifically designed for fabrics such as acetone, rubbing alcohol or naphtha.
Before using any of these products, test them on a small area of fabric to ensure they don’t damage the material. Once you’ve determined that the solvent won’t damage the fabric, it's time to tackle stain. Apply the cleaner directly onto the stain and use a cloth to gently rub the area. This should help to lift the ink away from the fabric. Once you have removed as much of the ink as possible, rinse the area with warm water and let it air dry.
If the ink was caused by an inkjet printer, you can try using white vinegar or club soda to help remove the stain. Soak a cloth in either white vinegar or club soda, and then apply it to the stain and gently rub the area. This should help to lift the ink away from the fabric. For inkjet stains that are more stubborn, you may need to use a commercial spot remover.
It’s also important to note that when dealing with any type of ink stain, you should use a blotting method rather than a scrubbing action. Scrubbing can damage the fabric and set the stain. And finally, always read the care label on your Tory Burch item before attempting to clean it.
