Lift Off Ink Stains with These Quick and Easy Steps

Accidents happen! But when ink stains are spilled on your favorite shirt or blouse, don't panic. With a few simple tools and supplies, you can easily clean off those unsightly spots.

Tools & Supplies Needed:

  • Spray bottle
  • Rubbing Alcohol (70%)
  • Cotton swabs
  • Dry cloth
  • Liquid detergent
  • Laundry detergent

Instructions:

  1. Dab the area with dry cloth to remove as much of the ink as possible.
  2. Mix rubbing alcohol with water (2:1) and put them in the spray bottle.
  3. Spray the stained area and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Use a cotton swab to gently scrub the stained area.
  5. Rinse the area with warm water.
  6. Apply liquid detergent to the area and rub with a cloth.
  7. Wash the area with laundry detergent and hot water, according to clothing instructions.
  8. Rinse out the fabric and hang to dry.

Tips:

  • Be sure to use a mild detergent that won't damage fabrics.
  • If the stain doesn't come off after the first attempt, repeat the procedure.
  • For darker colored fabrics, use bleach instead of rubbing alcohol.
