Remove Ink Stains Easily With These Cleaning Tips
If you have ever had the misfortune of spilling a pen on your favorite pair of tights, you know the panic that ensues at the thought of having to clean up the mess. Fear not — cleaning ink stains from tights is not as difficult as it may seem.

What You'll Need:
- Cold water
- Dish soap
- Non-gel toothpaste
- Bowl
- Cloth or sponge
Step By Step Guide to Cleaning Ink Stains
- Rinse the affected area with cold water. Do this immediately to remove as much of ink as possible.
- Fill a bowl with warm water and add a few drops of dish soap. Soak the stained area in the soapy water for 15 minutes.
- Dab a small amount of non-gel toothpaste to the stain. Gently rub the toothbrush into fabric of tights.
- Rinse the area with cold water and gently wipe away the residue from the toothpaste.
- Re-soak the stain in bowl of soapy water for an additional 15 minutes.
- Rinse with cold water and allow to air dry.
Tips & Tricks
- For stubborn stains, repeat the steps 1-6.
- Avoid using hot water as this can cause the ink to set in and make the stain more difficult to remove.
- Don't use bleach or harsh chemicals as these can damage the fabric of the tights.
- Do not place tights in drier until you are sure that the ink stain has been completely removed.
