Taffeta is a delicate fabric, so it is important to use only mild methods for cleaning it. Some of the suggested methods for cleaning ink stains from taffeta involve using items from your pantry and laundry room. Here are some tips for removing ink from taffeta without damaging the fabric:

  • Soak the stain in a solution of 1 part chlorine bleach and 8 parts cold water for about 15 minutes.
  • Create a paste out of 2 parts vinegar and 3 parts cornstarch. Spread the paste over the stain, let sit for 10 minutes, and then brush off in a circular motion. Rinse the area with cold water.
  • Mix 2 teaspoons of liquid dishwashing detergent and 8 ounces of cool water. Apply the solution directly onto the stain and gently blot with a clean cloth. Rinse with cool water.
  • If the stain still doesn't come out, rub rubbing alcohol directly onto stain. Blot area with a clean cloth and then rinse with cool water.

When using these methods for cleaning ink out of taffeta, always work from the outside of the stain to the inside. This will help avoid spreading the stain any further. It's also important to remember to test any cleaning method on an inconspicuous spot of the fabric first to ensure that fabric won't be damaged by the cleaning process. After the stain has been removed, put the taffeta in the washing machine or hand wash it with a gentle detergent.

With the right cleaning approach, stubborn ink stains on taffeta can be easily removed. Remember to be gentle and use only mild methods, as taffeta is a delicate fabric that should not be exposed to harsh chemicals.
