What You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Nail polish remover
  • Soft-bristled toothbrush
  • Clean cloths

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Be sure to blot stain with a clean cloth as soon as possible. This will help to prevent the ink from spreading. Continue to gently blot until the cloth is no longer absorbing any of the ink.

Step 2: Create a Cleaning Solution

Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl. Then, stir in a tablespoon of baking soda. It's important not to use too much baking soda, as it can damage the suede.

Step 3: Scrub Stain

Dip the soft-bristled toothbrush into cleaning solution. Testing a small area first, gently scrub the stain in circular motions. If mixture starts to dry, add more vinegar and water. Continue this process until the stain has been completely removed.

Step 4: Rinse the Area

With a clean cloth, rinse the area with cold water. Be sure to check that the cleaning solution has been completely removed. Repeat this step if necessary.

Step 5: Dry the Area

Using a dry cloth, gently press the area. Gently move the cloth back and forth until the area is completely dry.

Removing Stubborn Stains

If you're still having trouble removing the ink stain, dampen the cloth with some nail polish remover. Test a small area first before applying to entire stain. Once the stain has been removed, rinse the area with cold water.
