The older stain is, the more difficult it will be to remove. If it's a fresh stain, it's important to act quickly in order to avoid a permanent mark. For fresh ink stains, follow the next steps.
If the ink stain is fresh, the rubbing alcohol can help to break it down. Take a cotton swab or sponge and dip it into rubbing alcohol. Gently dab the ink-stained area with the cotton swab or sponge. Do not press down or scrub the stain--just dab it gently. Leave the rubbing alcohol to sit on the stain for several minutes, then pat dry with a clean cloth.
Lemon juice is an effective natural cleaning agent that can help lift ink stains from fabric. Pour a small amount of lemon juice onto a clean cloth and dab at the stained area. Again, do not scrub or press down too hard--just dab to lift the stain. Leave the lemon juice on material for a few minutes, then rinse with cool water.
After applying either rubbing alcohol or the lemon juice, rinse the area with cool water. Gently dab area with a clean cloth until liquid is removed. Then, hang the fabric up to air dry or place it in dryer on a low setting.
If the ink stain still won't budge after following these steps, it may be best to take the fabric to a professional cleaner. Professional cleaners have access to more powerful cleaning agents than are available to the average person. They should be able to safely remove the stain without damaging the material.
