Using Rubbing Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is a great way to remove ink stains from silk. Begin by dabbing stain with a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol, and then rinse the area with cold water. If the ink has set in, you can also use an old toothbrush to agitate the stained area. After all of the ink has been removed, wash the item according to the manufacturer's directions.

Using Vinegar

Vinegar is another effective ink removal agent for silk. Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water in a bowl, and then gently dip the stained area into solution. Allow the fabric to soak for a few minutes, and then rinse it with cold water. You can also dab the stained area with vinegar using a cloth, and then rinse with cold water.

Using Dish Soap

Dishsoap can be used to effectively remove ink stains from silk. Wet the stained area with warm water, and then apply a small drop of dish soap directly onto the stain. Gently rub the stain with a soft cloth or brush, and then rinse the area with warm water. Be sure to wash garment according to manufacturer's instructions afterward.

Using Nail Polish Remover

Nail polish remover can be used in a pinch to help remove ink stains from silk. Before using nail polish remover, test it on a small, hidden area of fabric to make sure it won't cause any damage. If it passes the test, carefully dab affected area with a clean cloth soaked in nail polish remover. Once the ink has been removed, rinse area with cold water and then wash garment according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Preventative Measures

The best way to remove ink stains from silk is to prevent them from occurring in the first place. Make sure that all pens, markers and other sources of ink are kept away from the fabric and always handle ink-based products with care. Additionally, you should be extra careful when handling or wearing ink-based items, such as newspapers or magazines.
