Removing Ink Stains from a Robe

If you are dealing with an ink stain on a robe, you need to begin by ensuring the fabric is washable. Check the manufacturer's tag for washing instructions. If it states that robe is machine washable in cold water, then that is the safest way to clean it.

If your robe is made from delicate fabric such as silk, then you should use a different preparation for cleaning the ink. In order to remove an ink stain from delicate fabric like silk, you should use a mild soap and cold water. Dip a soft cloth in the soapy water and gently scrub the stain with it. Make sure not to rub too harshly because this could damage the delicate fabric.

Ink stains on robust fabric such as cotton can be removed by soaking the stained area in a solution of water and detergent. Soak the stained area in the solution for 10-15 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water. Lastly, you can use a clean cloth to dab the area dry.

Once the ink has been completely removed, you can put the robe into the washing machine for a regular cycle with a gentle detergent. Once the cycle is complete, lay robe flat to dry.

Expert Tips

  • Use cold water for cleaning ink stains from any kind of fabric.
  • Minimise the amount of scrubbing while tackling ink stains.
  • If the fabric is delicate, opt for a mild soap instead of detergent.
  • Be careful with the washing machine settings and ensure cycle is gentle.

If you follow these steps, you will be able to get rid of pesky ink stains from your robe in no time!
